Matt and Christy chose the beachfront of the Freight Shed in Yorktown, Virginia for their wedding day. It had already been a busy weekend for Mason and I with the Orphan Helpers Golf Classic the day before, but we were excited to be shooting at Yorktown Beach! The sun sets in a great location, and Matt and Christy agreed to take their portraits after the reception (which is my new favorite time at a wedding to shoot portraits!) I left Mason with the guys while my awesome assistant Savannah and I headed to Christy’s hotel. Matt and his brothers (and other groomsmen) had a fun time joking around and hanging out with family, and then they took the tram up to the Yorktown Monument so Matt could have a first look with Christy. When she arrived, we took a few family portraits and then headed back to the beach for the wedding. After the dinner and dancing, we headed back out to walk around on Yorktown Beach. The lighting was gorgeous and I was able to try out a few shots I’ve been working on this year. We had to rush a little to beat the sunset, but Matt and Christy were a pleasure to work with and they were enthusiastic for anything I threw at them. Enjoy the pictures!
